So healing well here I think. I DON'T LIKE narcotics at all. They are taking forever to leave my system! I feel like I have this little motor running inside me, I'm dizzy & a little nauseous. I'm hopping around with the crutches quite well (with all last years practice!) We go camping this weekend ...that should be hilarious!Badages do not come off till next Wednesday. So as the foot heals I'll have to start thinking about the carpal tunnel surgery DOH! Does it ever end! All the while trying to make a living L

Oh do take care of yourself - be careful camping - hate to see you trip and hurt your foot or something else catching yourself! Get well soon!

Not sure how you managed that long on crutches! I've only had mine for a day and they are driving me mad! Any tricks for getting around on these, please let me know. Been over 20 years since I had to use a pair. Looking forward to hearing how the camping trip went.

So this was this weekends wedding cake. It was buttercream and the temp here went to late 20's I was frazzled!! The design is inspired by Anne Heap's beauty. But hey we have to keep our customers on their budgets!!! The damask is fondant cut outs.The top hat is RKT coverend in chocolate then fondant. I could really use a scroll work lesson!!! Some insight on how to 'get it right' :-/ Wonderful bride & groom! First time at this venue. Really done up well!!!

Oh the scroll work was done with silver gel. 1st time i've eer tried to pipe with that stuff...I'm NOT lloving it!!!

Thank you. We didn't even know they were doing this again or that there was a check involved ($50 to a local nursery). We try very hard to keep it like this or nicer throughout the year, which is hard with the TX heat. lol...

LOL! Sally - I did do a lot of packing when we staged the house. I have a small shed full of boxes. There is still a decent amount but it's not terrible. I really need to find boxes. I've been doing all the apartment hunting/annoying detail stuff right now. Rest assure packing will commence soon!

Good Morning Everyone, it is a beautiful sunny morning, just wants to make me smile. Today I have a few cakes to bake and one to decorate for a 16th birthday. Mom wanted all these things on the cake, when I gave her the quote she just looked at me. I explained we all know a can of oil costs $$ but an oil change costs $$, it is all about the labor that goes into the design. She still wants the cake, just much more toned down. Have a great day and remember to smile.

Yes - people are always surprised by the price. There's a reason Walmart cakes are cheap - there's no skilled labor going into it! If you want fancy cakes you pay fancy prices... Have a great day Kath!

Boy today my friends I need your prayers. I have been up all night trying to tend to my precious little Brussels Griffon. She is very tiny (8lbs) and has epilepsy. It is normally controlled with phenobarbytal. Last evening about 5:00 she started having seizures and they wouldn't stop. The nearest emergency clinic is nearly two hours away. My vet had me giving her vallium to sedate her. She had ten or eleven seizures before morning.

She is at the vets now under heavy sedation. He says if they can't stop the seizures I will have to put her down. I think if that happens they will just have to put me down too. She has the soul of a little angel and never even growls....she just loves everyone. Her name is Sissy...please keep her in your prayers today.

If any of you have a great way of sneeking fruits/veggies into meals please let me know. You can email me if you like...janell.deal@gmail.com. My oldest and I don't eat much, ok, like none and we are in the process of changing our eating habits. More fruits/veggies/soy vs meat, etc. I'm a very picky eater. I've tried holding my nose, closing my eyes, doesn't work. Any tricks would be greatly appreciated. Have a great day!

Janell, most food is an aquired taste. I would say make small amounts and just eat it along with the kids, once everyone has had it several times it becomes easier. Jessica Steinfield also has a cookbook that puts veggies in food.

Smoothies! blend fruits & veggies together start with 3/4 fruit &1/4 veggies & work up to 1/2 & 1/2 You can't even tell they are in there (1/2 banana, 3oz orange juice, 1/4 cup greek yoghurt, 1 cup of any kind of berries then add say a bunch of Kale. you wont even taste the kale(super food)

There's a great cookbook by Jerry seinfelds wife that is all about recipes with veggies snuck in. Like a mac and cheese made with cauliflower. Also check out pint rest. Did this with my daughter over the course of this past year and she lost 47 lbs.!!

You can blend all veggies and add them pureed. Doug hates trees and shrubs as he calls them so I sneak them in and he doesn't even know.

What a lovely article Ms. Vincent, I read it this morning. I really love the colors and designs of the first two cakes featured. Then I saw the one with the stenciled roses, they are all breath taking! Looking forward to reading the follow up in the next issue.

Thank you Janell The table setup I did in 1993, they wanted something old something new and what was not mentioned the one with the stencilled roses, I made th entire thing one handed because I broke my arm clean in two. Wasn't easy!

One handed!!!! Roses are hard enough with two hands, can't imagine roses with stencilling and one hand. That takes on a whole new level of determination. The cake was very beautiful.

We use Celsius here all the time, I usually have to use a translator to change between C and F! Lol.
